LabImage GEA (Gel Electrophoresis Analyzer)
LabImage GEA was developed based on LabImage 1D and offers a standard evaluation process for finished gels on a specific imager. The software refers to predefined gel layouts and evaluates them.
The software was developed for a German company. Due to the takeover of the company, the application did not come into the market.
The detection method was used, for example, to detect MRSA bacterias through to malaria / HIV. Emphasis was placed on a robust methodology. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a group of gram-positive bacteria that are genetically distinct from other strains of Staphylococcus aureus. MRSA is responsible for several difficult-to-treat infections in humans. It caused more than 100000 deaths attributable to antimicrobial resistance in 2019.
The software was one of the first solutions that delivered firmly defined processes using an imager as a complete system.
The software was developed in close coordination with a gel imager which was custom made for that type of application.
